BOONES MILL STUDENT ARTWORK ON DISPLAY

Last school year, many of our fifth grade students stayed after school with Ms. Denning to create ceiling tiles that will eventually be installed in the Carilion Children's sing of Roanoke Memorial hospital.  We are very happy to announce that all of the completed ceiling tiles, including Boones Mill’s, will be on display in the main atrium of the Taubman Museum of Art from August 7 through August 30!

All of our students, families, and others are invited to come see your students’ work among many others. The Taubman Museum of Art is free general admission provided by AEP Foundation. We are open Fridays & Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help advertise this display to your students’ families.

Throughout the duration of this display all student made tiles will be available to view in an online gallery through their website.

The link will be www.taubmanmuseum.org/carilion-clinic-healing-ceiling-tiles.

Through this gallery the public can also vote for a People’s Choice Best in Show Award for an individual tile! The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place students will each receive an pack of art supplies!

In addition to the People’s Choice Awards, we will have three distinguished local community leaders judging the tiles and awarding their own Curated Best in Show 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! These students will also receive an art supply based prize.
